Technology allows us to get a better understanding of what the math is doing, rather than asking students to do repetitive calculations without connections.
It's an interesting argument to how beneficial coupling technology with mathematics is.

ReplyDeletejust a small typo. Other than that, the videos are very applicable to the matter at hand. He gives a lot of good insight that we overlook. It was long, so I did not watch the whole thing, but I can see that he had a lot of other great ideas, too. Showing how quantitative our world is, is important to show that it is good to learn.
These are really great videos, but I dont think they belong here! These videos are telling us how beneficial technology can be to math classrooms. Although these ARE sources, I think it would better if you could move it to another page, persuading people to implement technology into classrooms.
ReplyDeleteI also think it would be good to include a summary for each videos. These are relatively long and I'm not sure if everybody would watch the entire clip. I didn't.
The TED video is especially empowering! I think if it was on the front page with certain time frames for people to view, it would really motivate people to start implementing technology into the classroom.
Once again, great video! It'd be a shame if people miss out on these because they're located on the Resource page.
